ENROLMENT
Enrolment at Pahiatua is the same as at any Primary School in New Zealand.
There is no enrolment zone.
Simply call into the office and collect an enrolment pack.
If you would like to visit the school to see if we can offer the quality education for your child that you are looking for then ring or email and make a time that suits and we will ensure that the principal or deputy principal is available to meet with you, answer any questions and to show you around.
We recommend this if you feel your child will require extra assistance with their learning or behaviour as we have many programmes available and like to discuss these to be sure we place your child in the best possible place for their success.
We welcome 4 year olds intending to enrol at our school to join our 4 year old programme. Once a week they will attend school and be taught school routines, basic skills and be involved in formal activities designed to prepare them for school. They are taught by a qualified teacher and will be delivered to their respective kindergarten or pre-school centre following the session if you wish.
We encourage you to contact the school regarding enrolment as soon as you have decided they will be attending so we can put them on the pre school list and we are able to keep you updated with activities and events that they are able to join in with.
When enrolling a 5 year old, we will need to verify the child's age with their birth certificate and you will need to give us a copy of their immunization certificate. You will also be asked other relevant details relating to any learning difficulties, medical problems, emergency contacts, phone numbers and other information for the Ministry of Education.
Just call into the office and ask Julie to add them to the list - don't wait until they're 5 years old.
SCHOOL VISITS
Four weeks before your child is due to start school you will receive a letter to tell you what is involved for the school visits. This will include what room your child will be in, the length of each visit, who your child's teacher will be, etc. Click on the link below to view the letter that we send out to parents.
